Task failed due to unavailabity of username and password

Few tasks had been failing due to the following error: Document open call failed. The document might require username and password.

But when I restarted the task without changing anything, the task got succeeded. This is a very strange error and seems to have no solution except for restarting the same.

Could any one of you please shed some light on this and how to resolve the error once and for all.

Hi,

if you are using any section access then you have to add the user id in the access of document by which your qlikview services are running.

and also there is option on the server to provide the user id and password to reload the application.

QEMC => Document  Tab => User Documents => select the document => reload tab.

hope this will help.

Hi Nilesh

We donot use section access. So could you please suggest a work-around. And also, why are the reports get succeeded on restart (even though we do not give any username and password because of which it failed in the first place)?

You should delete your all tasks from the server and then again make task process chain. Then hopefully your problem is resolved.

Hi,

i get the same error message from time to time and not on any reload of the QlikView Document. Most reload and publish attemps are successful.

Check so there is no antivirus scanning qvw files or any other QlikView related folder/files during the day.

Also, check so performance is ok when running tasks, cpu and ram.

How many qvb´s / tasks are you running at the same time?

We do not have any antivirus in our server which would scan the qvw files. Performance is also fairly good. We run approximately 4-5 tasks at a time. This issue is also becoming fairly regular now. Everyday 1-2 tasks get failed because the same reason.
