New Document Name Using Publisher

Hello QlikCommunity,

I have recently discovered that there is not a native ability to change the application names in AccessPoint. This is very disappointing as I find it important to be able to distinguish between development given names and those that the customer sees. However, I did come across a post that described that you can create a copy with a different name through the publisher reduce feature. I have been trying to get this to work, but have not been successful. I don't know what settings in the reduce tab to select (I do not actually want to reduce by anything, just make a copy with a new name).

If anyone has been able to successfully do this I would be very grateful for any steps or advice.

PS. If you, too, would like to see the custom name feature added, go and vote for the idea here: http://community.qlik.com/ideas/1095

Hi,

Nothing special just a basic reload.

Hi Chris,

I am not sure what you are doing wrong, but you can name a document in Publisher.  Below I change the document name to "this is a test".

and here it is in AccessPoint.

This is done with no data reduction on a basic reload and distribution.

Thank you for the help Bill!

I thought it should be that simple, but I am still unable to get the renamed version to show up. I have added a new task set to trigger after the first reload task finishes (this way I should actually end up with two documents with different names) and my 'Reduce' tab looks just like yours.

Are there any other basic settings under any of the other tabs that I need to set? If it helps I can post screenshots, however I have left most everything with the default settings.

Thanks again!

Ah-ha!

Under the 'Distribute' tab I was using the 'Loop Field in Document' section instead of the 'Manually' section to send the renamed document to a different folder.

Thank you for all of the screenshots!
