I'm working on QlikView server 11.2 SR5
a client wants to make authentication to ACCESS point using web form
on management console it is a matter of selecting the option
However what the client wants is that in the user text box the one who is logging supplies only his/her username and not Domain\Username
is this feasible?
Please advise how
One more thing and I'm sure this is windows security issue - not all domain users are able to login to ACCESS point but all were able to login successfully when the selected option was (browser authentication)
Please advise
Hi Ali,
I have tried to replicate the issue and can't. Is the QlikView server and webserver on the same machine? Are you using IIS or QVWS?
Bill
Hello Ali,
How is the end-user authenticated?
NTLM? Header? WebTicket?
Customization of the webserver depends on what kind of authentication you have and if you want to customize the product.
Regards,
Erik
NTLM
Are you using IIS or QVWS?
Is there anything specific about users that cannot access the AccessPoint? Any pattern? E.g. particular rights, groups, admins, subdomains etc.

Erik
QVWS
if users are logging from Citrix then nothing wrong
however if users log on using a laptop joined to the domain they are not able to log on
Hi Ali,
Clearly you need the Citrix connection in order for this to work. Otherwise you won't have a connection.
Could be that the end-user is logging in from somewhere where they are not automatically recognized, for instance from another domain, or outside the domain, thus they need to add the DOMAIN\ in front of USERNAME, as otherwise the webform will fill in the end-users own credentials, and not the preferred one from the userdirectory.
Regards,
Erik
Citrix users get logged on direct to Accesspoint, without having to specify username/password?
And user inside domain/local in office has to sign in, and do not want to specify domain\user, just username?
We need to split the apples and pears here
Citrix user, I guess they gets logged on to the same domain as the local users in office?
What kind of login window is prompting users? Windows or QlikViews?
May I ask why the use of webform?
the client is a bank
client is paranoid and they preferred web form authentication
