While preparing for the Performance and Scalability training, I noticed that when the server is not getting any requests or activities (to my knowledge), it very slowly starts to take up more memory. I just started the machine and QVS was using 7-8mb of RAM but it slowly started growing to 13+mb.
My question is:
What is it doing that it, be it very slowly, is taking more memory over time without it getting any scheduled or user requests?
I am still curious about the answer.
Anyone have any wild idea's?
Are you pre-loading any apps?
Nothing at all. Clean server install, nothing special.
line documentation and every now and then looking at the screen I notice the increase of memory use over time (30+ minutes or not doing anything with the server).
I know, a few mb is nothing in todays world, but I am still curious about what is eating memory while I think the server is doing nothing.
That 2nd sentence should have started with "While reading offline documentation" but for some reason it got removed from the post.
Please check (or even post) your server logs (C:\programdata\QlikTech)
