Ok so maybe remove the filename part

so just say

LET v = '$(PathQVD)\$(FilenameQVD)';

Thank you Massimo

but i don't want only check qvd files.

the pb i don't understand is why LOAD works with my variable '$(PathQVD)\$(FilenameQVD) and WHY

LET v= '$(PathQVD)\$(FilenameQVD)  returns null

No because path and file are correct

doesn't mean a file exists

OK

i found why

FileName is the problem. Returns always NULL

FielSize returns a value if file exists and null if doesn't

Thnak you everybody for your help

Chris
