no server message, server unavailable

starting from yesterday I have problems with a qlikview server, small business, version 11.20 sr5: the result is no server in the access point and users cannot access qlikview docs

on the load side I get 3 different type of errors on different docs (extract of the log is below); all errors seems I/O related

this isn't a new server, no new deploy, so the etl (load) process and the user accessing the server aren't changed in last months

any help would be appreciated

thanks in advance

OK, next step:

The three logs point to a problem accessing the User documents on the SAN. Is the account running the QlikView services still able to delete one of the failing QVWs. Has this account still write access to these files?

Is that part of the SAN (still) free of occasional anti-virus scanning?

The third log shows an apparently intermittent problem ("network device disappeared!"), but that could be because the log has other error messages immediately before that one.

Disk full?

Otherwise, restart the server and see if that helps

Hi,

Please try the below

1) Check Server License.

2) Check with your Sysadmins for read write rate. ( may be disk is corrupted)

3) Check with your network team for any relays. (Check reply by pinging your server)

4) Avoid reading same qvs in more the 1 application simultaneously

5) Double check are QlikView Services running under administration account?

Hope it helps

Your QVS may have frozen because it seems to be locked out of its own PGO files.

Are you managing this SAN device, or is there an IT department that can tell you what has changed to the SAN since the day before yesterday?

Not applicable

Fastest way to get up and running and at same time rule out access issues to SAN, is to temporarily move files to local disc on server.

Hi Massimo,

It would be very relevant if you posted the logs (or excerpts) from when the issue happens from QVS Event Log, and the QVWS log.

The QVWS log will likely say that it cannot reach the QVS, but what does the QVS itself say? Default log location is C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\QlikViewServer.

Erik

logs are attached

it seems that after a check of qlikview service authorization on the san folders the load process is working
