NUMA setting with 4 processors

Hi All,

I have a severly under performing server.

I have been advised that having NUMA enabled can negatively impact Qlikview performance.  So I approached the hosts of our dedicated server and asked for it to be disabled - they have stated that because we have 4 CPUs this cannot be disabled.  Does this ring true?  Can anyone shed some light on this for me?

Cheers,

GPC

Hi,

What kind of Server brand / bios is being used?

Probably can find out by making search on asked information.

But the number of Cpu´s should not matter if numa can be disabled or not

Thanks Dariusz,

So what I can read from those is that my version (11.2 SR5) is not impacted by NUMA due to the built-in workaround.

On that note, should I not worry too much about that setting?

Cheers,

GPC

Hi Gareth,

A hardware switch is better than software. I advice you to test for yourself an "before and after" test with this option to see how it impacts your environment.
