Re: v11
Nicole Smith May 29, 2014 2:54 PM (in response to Lonnie Short)You need to enter your license key.
If you don't have one, personal edition only allows you to open up four documents that you have not created:

Re: v11
Lonnie Short May 29, 2014 3:16 PM (in response to Nicole Smith )I downloaded personal edition this morning. Created a brand new document, saved it, closed it and tried to reopen and it will not let me. I never had this problem on PE v10 on my old laptop.

Ricardo Gerhard May 29, 2014 3:35 PM (in response to Lonnie Short)Lease a Named Cal license for Qlikview Desktop by "Open in server" option.
You are using a Qlikview Desktop and need to re-validate a license.

Colin Albert May 31, 2014 4:30 AM (in response to Lonnie Short)Changing to a newer version of Qlikview does not reset the recovery count. If you have used your four recovery attempts, you will need to purchase a licenced copy of QlikView.

Re: v11
Lonnie Short May 31, 2014 8:02 AM (in response to Colin Albert )In PE v10, if I had used all my recovery attempts and created a brand new document from scratch, I could still open it. PE v11 will not allow me to do that even though it is on a completely different machine that has never had any Qlikview software on it.

Ronnie Taborn May 29, 2014 4:22 PM (in response to Lonnie Short)Did you use save or save as?
-
Re: v11
Ronnie Taborn May 29, 2014 4:27 PM (in response to Lonnie Short)The reason why you can not run the personal edition is because you have exceeded the number of Document Recoveries allowed.
One of the reasons can be that you have opened files that weren't created in your personal edition program or shared documents with other unlicensed users.
Please find below the Personal Edition FAQ. Make sure to read "What is "Document Recovery" and when should I use it?"

Re: v11
Lonnie Short May 29, 2014 4:33 PM (in response to Ronnie Taborn )It is a brand new document, created this morning. I tried to open it 1 time after I created it and it would not open. So that is not the issue. Save or Save as did not matter which I used.

Can you be more specific about the version of Qlikvew? open Qlikview > help > about Qlikview, can you please provide the whole build number?ex. 11.20.XXXXX.
This will determine if this a bug that we are aware, so you can update to the latest PE of Qlikview.
