Why would a QVW ask for user name and password ?

Dears

we are working on QlikView server 11.2 SR5

actually we have 2 servers one for development an another is the production / live one

there are several QVWs that either connect to database and create QVDs or simply read the generated QVDs

whenever we make an update on any of the QVW files, and copy the QVW from Development server to the production one the task that is created on this document will fail and the error says: failed to open document. Document might require username and password.

Knowing that these QVWs don't have section access

Please advise

Hi,

May be due to database connection string.

I believe you have separate connection for Dev and Prod

do you take care of this?

yes Connection string is separated

in the document I use include for the file that contains connection string

if I try running the task several times then it will work

but about 3 to 4 trials

and sometimes more

Hi Ali,

Need to check something. Open the source QVW and check Settings>Document  Properties> Opening

Make sure the below is not checked.

If the above is the correct. Can you post the distribution Log?

IMHO this sounds more like a problem with the development account copying a QVW to a system where the QVS service account cannot access the document (NTFS). If no section access is used at all, that is.
