Share session(collaboration) button does not appear...

Hi guys,

I'm trying to setup the session collaboration on my server unsuccessfully.

Does the server/service need a restart after the settings have changed?

As shown in the attachment QVSettings.png, I've selected the option in the server as well as the option for the document.

The bottom of the picture shows the IE page accessing via AJAX with NO 'SHARE' option.

The server is running QV11 SR6 and the folders structure is in the QVSettings1.png attachment.

Any ideas or other settings that I should check?

Thanks

Daniel

Hi Daniel

As I see you use IE Plugin to open document.

Try to open document via ajax. or use another browser. try with chrome or Firefox.

I'm sure you will have it.

If it doesn't work try by restarting qlikview services.

by the way your qvsetting1.png not points to same location.

Hi This works with ajax mode only.

In order to setup this feature you have to do enable it from two locations on server.

1) go to QEMC --> system --> Setup --> Qlikview server --> Document --> now select Allow Session Collaboration Click save and apply

2) Then go to the Document tab -->user Document--> Select your document --> go to availability tab and now select Session Collaboration Click save and apply

Now open your document via access point On QlikView tool bar you will see session collaboration option.

Hope it helped.

Hi Ashfaq,

If you look at the attachments I posted before, those two options are already selected both in the server and the document level on QEMC.

In the bottom of picture QVSettings.png, shows my toolbar without the share option as well as the address that indicates that I'm using the AJAX. I've tried from a few computer thinking that it could be my computer and no lucky.

Anything else I should try?

Thanks

Thanks Ashfaq.

I found that IT has configured to not use AJAX but the IE plugin instead.

I've restarted the service and managed to get the AJAX version running on my computer and it works.

Much appreciated.

Do you know if there is a way to run the AJAX version on IE even though the user has the plugin installed?

Thansk

Yes,

You have two options to achieve this.

1) set Ajax as default client.

2) while login select favorite and profile and select full browser.

Images attached.

hope it helped.
