Connecting to Hadoop Hive from QlikView

Hi,

Does QlikView natively support connecting to Hadoop based systems ? I tried to connect to CDH 4.1 using the Cloudera connector for QlikView (which is available on Cloudera website) but I am not able to connect.

I know there are other ways like using JDBC connector but I would like to know if QlikView can connect to Hadoop/Hive sources without purchasing any third party connectors.

Hi,

The example demonstrates the connectivity using JDBC driver which has to be purchased from tiq-solutions. I am looking some thing which is directly available from QlikView.

Nope. It doesn't connect directly! It's also a custom connector and needs an additional software stack.

The Cloudera ODBC driver is one direct connectivity solution (as JDBC connector is too) but doesn't work with the latest CDH!

Ahh mybad - I missread it then.. But its an alternative connector to Hadoop

Has anyone been successful using the Cloudera connector for QlikView ? To use this driver does it need any specific verison of QlikView ?
