Hello together,
I´m using section access via an excel spreadsheet to control the access permission of my users. Now I´m trying to create a new permission for one of the users:
The Person should see the SoldToBusinessPartner.ExternalSalesRepName "JW" and "CG" for Company 200 and 700. But for "JW" the person should just see the SoldToBP.Area2 "40". If I do it this way then Qlik View only shows data for SoldToBPArea2 "40" for SoldToBusinessPartner.ExternalSalesRepName "JW". It does not show any values anymore for "CG". Any idea what I´m doing wrong here?
Best regards
Carolin
SoldToBP.Area2 |
* |
40 |

use like above it will work
'All' did not work and also * did not. I will now try to enter a value for CG checking if it is correct what Yoann says.
Can you attach an example, maybe I could help?
Why you are taking 'Company=200' for employee 'JW' 2 times, I am not clear on this?
Try something like this....
REPNAME | REGION | COMPANY | AREA2 |
JW | EMEA | 200 | 40 |
CG | EMEA | 200 | * |
CG | EMEA | 700 | * |

Pradeep
Make star pattern like above and check the option
Initial Reduction based on the section acces(in document properties -->opening tab)
that means where ever * is there the user have accces to all values in "SoldToBP.Area2"
If you specified a value then it will resrtict the user to see only that value
Carolin,
Check out this post regarding section access:
Section Access Help - Admin not seeing all data
I had a similar issues with section access and this post helped solve my issue.
You have to do this and add all values in AREA2 for REPNAME "CG"
REPNAME | REGION | COMPANY | AREA2 |
JW | EMEA | 200 | 40 |
CG | EMEA | 200 | 40 |
CG | EMEA | 700 | 40 |
CG | EMEA | 200 | 50 |
CG | EMEA | 700 | 50 |
It is not possible to use several reducing fields in Section Access the way you try. See http://community.qlik.com/blogs/qlikviewdesignblog/2014/06/02/data-reduction-using-multiple-fields
