Thanks for this information. I just discovered GeoNames and have been working with it. Maybe you might be able to help me with what I'm trying to do.

Ref:
Anyone imported GeoNames data into Qlikview?

Thanks,

This video discusses many mapping options each witgh a different way to address locating the data correctly on the map.  In general, lat and long are used except for with heat maps.  The specific format is different with each solution.  I recpmmend you review the documentation and/or examples included with the solution you would like to use.

I would like to use Qlik Map example. Please could you provide if any documentation available with you. I am not getting any document related to Qlik Map.

For Qlik map example from the video, you have created coordinates for second dimension. Pls could let me know what is the format or how the coordinate data looks like ?

Have Qlik Map and SVG extensions been taken down from QlikMarket? I can't seem to find them via your links.

Think I've answered my own question. The links have changed following the Qlik rebrand:

Link to SVG Map Extension: http://market.qlik.com/qlikview-svg-map.html

Hi Josh Good,

It was very nice demonstration on Qlik Map extension. I would like to know your suggestion for my requirement.

Client requirement is :

1. Analysis of Sales on Country Map (India).

2. Server doesn't have internet access to use google API for country maps.(google maps)

3. The map should be able to provide drilldown option.

4. Does Qlikmap extension requires internet ? How is the map getting displayed.

Do send me if you any document on QlikMap samples.

Yes the free QlikMap extension requires internet access.  Attached is an example app that comes with the extension.  It would be possible to download all the mapping tiles and then adjust the extension to look a local images vs using an online map.  This is beyond my expertise, if you want to go this way and need help please start a new discussion.

You other option would be the SVG extension.  You can setup the SVG image to change based on the selections to give drill down.  Attached is an example using the population of North America

I downloaded the extension but it is in zip and not qar farmat. I renamed it to .qar and double click on it and got an error

"In total 0 files in 1 directories were installed"

Can you advice how to install the extension ?
