In Qlik Sense, when I create a new app and select Quick data load, the path defaults to my home directory such as \\home\my_user_name\Documents. If I however select another network directory such as \\another_network_directory and start to browse down to subdirectories such as \\another_network_directory\subdirectory, the file selector will say "Invalid path" because it removes the leading double back slash. Instead of having the path \\another_network_directory\subdirectory, I end up with the path another_network_directory\subdirectory. I have to keep add the leading "\\" to be able to continue browse down.
Yes, just verified, ou get the message Invalid Path if ou don't have access to the folder
Just tried as you described but could not reproduce it with my installation. I have added a Conenction to a network Path and can use it also for subdirectories and drill down.
Might be related to network file permissions - in comparison when I browse to C:\PerfLogs (which I don't have permissions to access) I also get "Invalid path" in Qlik Sense.

Hi Karl,
Got the same issue here. Qlik Sense 0.96, when browsing by selection the leading \\ dissapears and has to be added manually to work.
I also use 0.96
Rights are not the issue in my case, I've got full access to the folder if I browse to it.
When browsing through a UNC path using Sense, it removes the leading \\ causing the error
Added a new Connection using the data load editor and indeed no problem here, it seems only to be an issue using the quick data load wizard.
I agree with you Paul, it is probably two different issues.
The data access issue is probably more of a usability improvement request. Instead of displaying "Invalid path" it should maybe say "No read access" or similar.
