What to backup before upgrade

Hi

I am planning to upgrade a server running QlikView Server & Publisher 11.2 SR3 to SR6.

Are there any particular folders anyone would recommend backing up beforehand ?

Hi Bill

Upgrading Qlik from 11.2 SR3 to 11.2 sr6 is straight forward.

I would recommend you to go with 11.2 sr7. Is there any specific reason you choose SR6?

To be on a safe side I recommend you to take backup of C:\ProgramData\QlikTech folder

alongside with the root folder of your server where you host document for end users.

• C\ProgramData\QlikTech    Or, ....Application Data\QlikTech (based on your OS)
• all your User Documents and Source Documents
• backup a copy of the file config.xml
• and if any seperate qvd/dat folder

Generally I make a backup of the whole C Drive before doing a backup.
