Hi,
after much ado and with some help from the Community, we have successfully set up the QMC_email_alert, so now we get an email whenever a reload_task in the QMC fails.
The remaining issue is, this email includes an extract from the task_log as you see it in the QMC - which is not so very clear as to the actual reason of the error ...
=> Would it be possible to somehow set the QMC to include in those emails the last few lines from the app_log instead?

The only error you going to received when the task fails is from the task log, I can't think away to set it to send you the document log as well.

Hi,
You can define the email you want to see a bit. Go into the QMC, System, Setup, Distribution Services, QDS@servername, E-mail Templates. If you press Help in the upper right corner you can see some variables you can define.

that sounds quite good - but that is only possible if you have the Publisher installed, I think? In my management console, that point "Distribution Services" isn't there.
Correct, you need Publisher.
