Displaying Cyclic Group Fields

I have a few special needs users who are struggling with the small icon displayed in the upper left corner of dimension groups in charts. Does anyone know of a alternative method for allowing users to select values in these groups? I am using the ajax client so maybe an extension is out there that might work?

I think for cyclic groups, there is no alternate other than that small icon.
