WHat is the difference between row and field level data security and server-side data reduction ??

HEy,

QlikView implements row and field level data security using a combination of document- level capabilities (Section Access) and server-side data reduction capabilities using QlikView Publisher.

I have a confusion :

According to me , both row and field level data security and server-side data reduction are same.

In row and field level , we define what columns should be made visible to which users. Am i right ??

In Server- side data reduction , we use reduce for selecting which columns or fields to be shown and in loop we define the users to whom that document to be shown. Am i right ??

Please resolve the confusion.

Thanx.

Yes you are right.

With Section Access you have everything in one document.

and with service side loop and reduce you will have multiple QlikView application for each value in your field.
