AccessPoint allowing all docs to all users on NTFS

We have a QV9 SR3 server (no Publisher) using NTFS security. Two mounted folders for QVWs. One folder is for users and the other is meant for internal apps for the QlikView Admins. Problem is that everyone sees ALL apps across both folders in the AccessPoint, regardless of how much we remove rights to the folders and QVWs.

We are using the AD groups/users for access and have tested this against just about every configuration of file/folder rights for users and nothing seems to impact which QVWs are seen by users. Oh, and BTW, everyone can open all of the QVWs too, so it's not just an inconvenience.

THanks,

brad

It's true that Access Point ignores Folder permissiions. Have you checked the specific permissions of the *.qvw files?

Hi,

We have QV9 SR3 and I what I did finally is applying NTFS security onto each QVW.

At first, the users could see every Documents in the AP, but once the tried to upon a QVW they are not supposed to have access, an error message showed up telling that they don't have the rights to open it.

After that, on the AP, they only sees the documents that they have access too.
Maybe its just a cache thing in the AP because even If I did CTRL-F5 to reload the page not from the browser cache, all QVW were listed.

Hopes this help some of you!

We had a similar issue with permission on sub-drectories using NTFS authorization.

We are copying files from a load directory to the presentation directory(used by AccessPoint), so the files were picking up the directory permission when copied.

We needed to remove enherited permission from the folder and that seemed to correct the issue. Now the files automatically pick up the folder's permission and apply it to the files.

Cheers,

B
