Upgrade to QlikView 11.2 SR8

Hi everyone

We are planning to upgrade our current platform (Build: 11.00.11282.0409.10) to QlikView build 11.2.12577, Service Release 8. Is there any known risk or error by doing this, or any special issue we should pay attention to?

When we upgrade the QlikView server, is it also necessary to upgrade all Desktop installed or we may ignore this?

You need backup in case you need to revert back.

Other then this everything works fine.

No need to replace anything in a successful upgrade

Hi,

One important thing to read in Release notes is the bug fixes. You may have noticed some limitations or bugs in SR7. Please study those and see whether SR8 going to handle those. So that you would have a more idea about the changes that is going to affect to you.

If the client had other version is that there could be some incompatibility issues in special addition with latest version.

In my case I upgrade both clients and server to the same version.

thanx

Hi Senarath

In our case we are going to upgrade from version 11.0 to 11.2 (and the newest SR). So it should be more complicated than just upgrading to a new SR inside the same version.

I'm mostly interested to hear about experiences achieved in this relation.

Could you please provide more details? What kind of problems?

If you have one pivot with dynamic dimensions  and expressions managed by GetSelectedCount, when you remove all expressions or all dimensions the pivot can't refresh data and it remains in load with the circle refresh icon.

I tried with different dashboard and the problem is the same.

The problems isn't with the client, only with web interface (all browsers).

We did the upgrade to SR7 recently and if you use EDX triggers you will have a problems. the bug wasn't fixed in SR8.

So we are waiting SR9.

EDX trigger doesn't work after QV upgrade to 11.2 SR7

Thank you Marino.

@konstantin : Is the EDX trigger fix in the SR9 bug fixes list?

UPDATE:

disregard the question, it is :

68635 EDX task - Publisher - Nested tasks: Errors occur with EDX automation when jobs

contain sub or nested tasks.

Hi,

I have removed the Beta information for SR9. You have to sign a beta agreement with Qlik to have access to this information. If you post information on the beta program you are in violation of the agreement.
