Installing QlikSense on AWS Workspace

Hi everyone!

My database server lives in an Amazon EC2 box. For data proximity and performance reasons, I'd like to be able to install QlikSense on an Amazon Workspace "Windows Desktop" box (which is, actually, Windows 2008R2 running in "Windows 7 Experience mode").

When I tried to install it there, even using "Compatibility Settings", the setup app displayed an error about not being able to install on a Windows Server or using an "old" version or Windows.

Is there any way to overcome this limitation?

Have you tried the latest Qlik sense Server version?  or regular desktop version?

Hi Daniel - check the following:

• did you / do you -  have an older version of Qlik Sense (QlikView.next) or QlikView installed prior?
• I assume you are trying to install the full Qlik Sense Platform and not desktop correct?
• The operating system is a supported one listed in our system requirements?
• It is a 64-bit version?

Hello Daniel - following up with you on this.

The error is an indication that a previous QlikView product (QlikView 11 Server or QlikView . Next) is installed. You need to uninstall that before installing Qlik Sense.
