Qlik Sense QMC and Hub do not open

Hi there, I have just installed Qlik Sense 1.0 (server edition) on a Windows Server 2008 R2 machine.

Everything seemed to go fine with this process but when I try to open the QMC to start configuring the system (or even the Hub), the page does not open.

I remember that something similar had happened after installing QlikView .Next 0.90 but, to be honest, I can't remember the solution to that issue...

Many thanks for every suggestion.

Yes, it is part of both "Administrators" and "QlikView Administrators" (even though I don't know whether or not it is actually used by Qlik Sense)

Sure, here it is.

group "QlikView Administrators" no longer need

I think your problem in this:

"Fatal exception during startup. Newly created client certificate not valid; root certificate can't sign new certificates; see logs

This means administrator has to manually delete or fix root certificate that isn't allowed to sign other certificates. This can be due to operating system update."

Hi There

I had a similar issue when I manually restarted my services. I did them top down then.

I have found that it looks like you need to start the Proxy Service first. Then start the others that are not automatically started by the Proxy Service.

Was this a fresh install or did you had earlier beta Versions installed on this Server? It seems that there is a Problem with the certificates.

I had the beta installed.

I had uninstalled and deleted ProgramData\Qlik before installing Version 1.

Hi John,

It is actually the Qlik Sense Repository Service that needs to be stopped/started first. All other services are depending on this service as it is responsible for communicating with the database.

There shouldn't be any services depending on the Proxy Service

Hi John,

You also need to make sure that you delete any existing certificates from the beta, before installing.

Did you do the following:

  1. Stop Qlik Sense Repository Service (this will also stop the other services)
  2. Open Microsoft Management Console (MMC). Important: Run this as the account configured to run the services (Run as... )
  3. Add snap-in for Certificates: My user account and Local Computer account
  4. In Certificates - Current User > Trusted Root Certification Authorities > Certificates, delete the certificate created by QlikSense, issued by your computer, computer.domain-CA
  5. In Certificates > Current User > Personal > Certificates, delete the certificate named QlikClient
  6. In Certificates (Local Computer) > Personal > Certificates, delete the certificate issued by computer.domain-CA.
  7. Start Qlik Sense Repository Service and verify it created the new certificates
  8. Start the rest of the services

There's no need to do a full reinstall to propagate new certificates. They are being created by the Repository Service automatically if missing.

Hi Alberto,

Do you only have Qlik Sense installed on this server, no QlikView Server version 10 or 11.20 installed before?

It is not a fresh install. QlikView .Next 0.95 (and 0.90) was installed instead.
