Can't open documents on Test Server Access Point

Hi there, I am facing a problem concerning a Test Server, i.e. a server licensed with a Test Server license, which comes with no Named CALs.

The problem is fairly simple to describe: I can get access the Access Point, but I can't access any of the published documents (in AJAX mode). What it says is that there is no user CAL for my account, as shown below:

Any ideas? It seems like it is not possible to test through the web what is published on the Access Point, if using a Test Server, but it sounds pretty weird...

do you have publisher license?

Hi,

You need to allocate a cal to your account before you access it via access point.

By the way test server will have named cal but can't lease it.

Yes, but it is a partner demonstration license. Could it be that the problem?

No,

It shouldn't be a problem

Did you allocated a cal or distributed application to this user?

I tried, but it doesn't let me do it. I can search and add a user to the "Assigned CALs" list but it disappears after clicking "Apply"

Hi,

In General Tab make sure allow dynamic cal is selected.

Next

Create a reload & task then in distribution tab add you user for distributing.

Run task once successful, try to access the same from access point

Hope it helps.

Unfortunately it doesn't work...

Distribution was already in place, even though "Allow dynamic CAL assignment" was not checked. Thanks for the suggestion.

Alberto,

Two things :

1- You must have "allow dynamic CAL assignment" turn on,

or

2- Assign yourself either a Name CAL or Document CAL

Make sure that you are sign into Accesspoint with the same username that is listed on the CAL assignments.

You can confirm by opening command-prompt and type "whoami" and press enter.
