Distribution Service is not starting / Distribution Service Disconnected

Dear Gurus,

We have recently(mid of Sep) upgraded our Qlikview server from V10 to V11.2 SR8. After that services are up and running file.

Last week while our server team has restarted the server as part of proactive maintenance, Distribution service is not starting. We have observed the following:

Error Message:

DistrService.png

When we compared the Config file under Distribution folder with backup config file before reboot, Entry in the config file is pointing to Management Service folder as below.

Config.png

Before reboot , it was having entry as below:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>

<root>

  <Setting Name="ClearApplicationDataFolder" Value="True" />

  <Setting Name="ApplicationDataFolder" Value="T:\QlikView Storage\Test\AppData\DistributionService" />

We suspect that the reboot of the server has activated something in the Qlikview setup, that is now overwriting this config file when the service is started.

We have manually updated  config file to point to distribution service path and restarted. After restart of the services, config file is overridden with following entry "<Setting Name="ApplicationDataFolder" Value="C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\ManagementService" />"

Kindly share your thoughts to identify the possible reason.

Best Regards,

Hi Ashfaq,

Thanks for the quick reply. I have tried the Loctdr command and also few other steps suggested by Community Gurus. Still it didn't work.

Ok

Did you try y restarting server once.

and make sure you selected start-up type as Delayed Start for all your QlikView Services.

Let me know if that worked.

Hi Ashfaq,

Unfortunately delayed start also not worked after restart of server.

What could be possible reason for wrong entry(with management service path) being overridden in Config file under Distribution service folder after restart?

Chinna

Hi

Try with editing the entry in the config file to "" instead of a path.

Then restart.

This should pick up the correct path.

Issue has been resolved after changing the following entry(C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\ManagementService ) in configuration.xml under \\AppData\DistributionService folder to T:\\QlikviewSTG\AppData\DistributioServie.
