License Policy

I have 20 Doc cals, I  have seen 10 users using the same doc cal, since they are logging in with generic id. Is there any policy of Qlikview which talks about license,

Hi,

Yes, this would be against the license agreement. Each user should be using their own login. That is why you purchased the CALs that you did.

I agree this is against license, we have applied  the fix to stop it. But do we have it documented anywhere in licensing policy.

Hi, Parag.

You may want to advise the business that this introduces a number of risks:

1) Abusing the licence agreement with QlikView - can incur a fine.

2) Security risk. If there is a security breach, who is responsible when everyone is using the same userid ?  - can cause reputation or financial damage.

3) This fails audit. This will be flagged up as a major issue by your auditors and almost certainly breach data security. - will cause reputation and financial damage.

Regards,

Neil
