NPrinting filter on recipients and output to those recipients?

Hello,

I have a report template setup. I have a large number of agents and I am trying to export out a scorecard to each of them.  So each recipient is also the filter.

Do I need to individually create a filter for each agent?

I also need a second filter for the previous 6 months for each of the recipients as well.

Is there a way to automate this process?

Thank you for you help.

In my testing I think I may need to do this with a Cycle on the Agent to have it print the report for each.

I do not see a way to tie the recipient John Smith with filter John Smith and extract his records out as John Smith.xls export and then repeat for each agent after.

Does this sound like I am getting warmer?

Hi, Darrin.

I assume you have a list of agents and locations of where you want the report to go to (a folder name or email address).

If this is in QlikView you can store the output into a file and then do an Import Recipient List task of the file into a recipient group. If this is not in QlikView, you can build a spreadsheet with filters and, again, perform the Import Recipient List task.

If the Agent name itself is also a filter then the Import Recipient task can also be used to set the filter automatically.

Have a look at the Vizub website for a demo video on importing recipients.

Neil

Neil,

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.

I believe those were the steps I had taken.

I created my app with a chart specifically designed to import into NPrinting.

Example of the table from QlikView I am pulling in from Tasks > Import Recipient Tasks > from QlikView Chart

FullNameDescriptionFilter1
AbelAgentAbel
JulieAgentJulie
ScottAgentScott
LarryAgentLarry

So now I have all my recipients above and all my filters from the above import as well.

I see Filters on the Report and Filters and Recipients on Task.  Do I import the recipients I want on the Task and match the Filters?  It seems like all Filters would apply to each recipient.

Abel Recipient would be filtered for Abel, Julie, Scott and Larry's data and so on.

I am missing something here.

If you consider that a filter is the same as a selection in a field in QlikView, then if selecting Abel in Qlikview gets you a view of the data you are after then, yes, that would work.

By any chance, were you able to achieve this? I am struggling for the same (to filter the recipients in the report and send individual emails to them)

Thanks,

Greetings,

I solved a similar issue by applying a filter to each one of the recipients.

I did this by importing a Recipient list from an excel, that had the Group and the Filter to be applied to each recipient.

After the import, i added the Recipient Group to the Task, and ticked the "Send email" checkbox in the Task Message.
