hi,
I am new to server side on qlikview. One thing I observed while sequencing the files on QMC, even after my current qvw fails it proceeds to the next qwv. For the next QVW to run i have given a condition that the earlier qwv should have run successfully. but this not happening as expected. even if the earlier qwv fails, the next starts executing.
Moreover, the main doubt is, even if the qwv fails, in qmc is shows as it has completed successfully. I could make out that the qwv has failed by looking at the log file generated.
Please help. how should i make my qwv fail in qmc if its actually failing.
Asif,
From what you said, I've a feeling that the problem is with one of the source tables that is being extracted.
Because if you have specified the condition that the next task should run only if the previous was successful, then QMC makes sure that it happens.
yeah but the qvw file is not showing as "failed" in QMC , it is showing as completed successfully, eventhough it is failing
do we need to handle error in the qvw to make sure that is fails in QMC, or it is internally handled by qlikview
Ali ,
Yes, that is what I was saying it did not fail, problem could be the one of the source tables its extracting ,the table could be empty.
How many layers of qvw do you have?
I mean
1) Extraction qvw
2) transformation qvw
3) main dashboard qvw
of the above 3 which one is failing?
the extraction qwv failed, and i investigated the audit log file and found that the ODBC connection had failed
All the criteria's are specified which creating the tasks in QMC
Btw my friend
If it was me
I would have changed the topic name to
Qvw fails but QMC still displays as successful ......something like that
This way you'll get better response, also tag it to make sure developers in the deployment forum get to see this thread.
ok, may be you are not using the right connection string
Ali,
If any of my inputs were helpful or correct could you please mark them as "helpful" or "correct"
