Lost Connection to Server. Reconnecting

Hello,

We are facing lot of issues with QV Connectivity and are constantly getting “Lost Connection to Server.  Reconnecting”

This is posing a big problem for us with our customer.  Everything seemed to be working fine but just three a few days back this started.  The irony is that it happened during the demo and we were unable to control it.

This error happens randomly – sometimes it is working fine other times it just keeps on giving the “Lost connection” errors.  We noticed that when the error starts - it particularly happens when we make the selections and press the search button.  I have checked the internet connectivity and it seems fine.  This happened a few times on the Server side also.

Will appreciate if someone can assist us with this as this is a real show stopper with the customer

Thanks.

We're on v11.2 SR4. We still face the issue and still have a case open with Qlik.

Due to pressure from my client. I had to reinstall qvs and upgraded to sr8.

Hi Mahesh.

We're running QV 11.2 SR8 x64, but still we see the problem. Did SR8 solve the problem for you?

@everyone:

Is this a known bug - or did anyone find a solution?

Nope.. we are still seeing the issue. We even migrated the user documents

from NAS to server local drive. Slight improvement in terms of loding

document but we still get the message quite often. We were able to reduce

the frequently of timeouts by increasing the session timeout on our sso.

Hope this helps

Hi Shane.

Did you get any answer/solution from the Qlik Support on this problem?

Hi CapHF, the last update I got from Qlik was the following on 29/09:

I now been testing your application. I do not get the same problem as you do it so working fine in my test environment, so my next steps in the tests will be to uninstall IE9 run IE8 and install IIS instead of qlikview webserver in order to see if I can replicate the problems you have with your settings. The next actions then will be to find out what kind of setting it could be causing your problems. I will get back to you as soon as possible with results.

I went on holiday a couple of weeks later and must admit I'd forgotten all about this so have asked them for an update.

Yeah, they suggested us also to move out of qlikview webserver and install

iis instead. We havent seen much difference after we migrated though.

Mahesh I've just had a meeting with Qlik today. They were unable to recreate the issue on their systems using QlikView WebServer so they suggested we move away from IIS 7.5. I stopped IIS and started Web Server then increased the QVS Timeout to 600 (from 60) in the C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\WebServer\config.xml

<QvsTimeout>600</QvsTimeout>

Even though it took about 5 minutes for the Adhoc Analysis to complete (as expected) when it had finished (observed by monitoring the CPU and Memory of QVS in task manager) the chart loaded on to screen.

Qlik want to close the case but I'm keen to see if they can get it working with IIS whilst I check internally to see if there was a reason the environment was built with IIS that's preventing us from moving to QlikView Webserver.

Hi,

You might have to check the data volumes of the QlikView dashboard you are using.

Provably calls for optimization of the dashboard formulas and correcting the schema to star schema.

Sometimes if the shared file is corrupted, also this is caused.

thanks,

Rajesh Vaswani

Check your event, session and audit logs when the disconnect happens. What do they say?
