Users in certain location cannot see Documents

I've got users in several Domains in different locations who have access to various Documents. There are 2 users in the same location who can open AccessPoint but see no Documents despite me setting Authorization in QMC. I've got different users that are in the same Domain but a different location who can see the Documents.

I'm a bit confused as to why and how to resolve this. Any ideas?

Shane,

Have you checked the windows effective permissions for those documents and if those users have rights to see those documents? Also, any section access on those documents?

There's no special Windows permissions.

Some documents have section access but most don't. The two users in this location cannot see any despite me adding them in as Authorized users. I've checked different scenarios and it seems to be the location that's the common factor.

Shane,

It might be because those two users migrated to some other domain. First check with them there present domain name and configure accordingly in QMC.

Thanks,

Hi Amit

I spent about 45 minutes with the two users trying different documents and also users in other locations. I am confident I configured the correct domain in the QMC - I cannot see how I could get it wrong. They've got a second a/c in a different domain so I configured that and got them to Run IE as a different user with the same result.

Shane ,

Try this solution :

  • Open Internet Explorer on your machine.
  • Go to Internet Options inside Tools.
  • Click on Delete Option under General.
  • Next select Cookies & History and click on Delete option.
  • After deleting Cookies & History please refresh your Qlikview Access point page and then you can see the reports.

Thanks,

AS

Hi Amit the users already tried that yesterday. One of them it was the first time he'd ever tried to access the site so there would have been nothing cached anyway.

Just spent some time testing other scenario's of web-ex. My user has an ID in two domains, HBAP (his primary) and HBEU.

I got my user to connect to my laptop and did a "Run as different user" on IE. He was able to view the documents via his HBAP domain account (despite not being able to on his laptop).

I connected to his laptop did a "Run as different user" and was able to view the documents.

He did a "Run as different user" on his laptop using his HBEU domain and was able to view the documents.

But on his laptop he is unable to view Documents if he uses AccessPoint normally via his HBAP domain (that he's logged on to his laptop with).

This is very strange.

Can they access the documents via the Ajax Client directly instead as a work around?

Andy do you mean directly via thick client? Or still via Access Point on their browser?
If it's the latter is this the setting?
