Hi,

Please follow as below:

  • Qlikview latest version download from Qlikview community(us-b.demo.qlik.com/download
  • Take backup of -Progarm Data folder from server (C-Drive/Program files)
  • stop all qlikview services before installation
  • Install new Qlikview server upgrade
  • Restart server
  • go to qmc and starts all tasks one by one
  • now downlaod QlkviewDesktop_x64setup.exe.download (QlikView Desktop) and Install it.

Thanks,
AS

It does not matter which you do first.  But I would suggest doing the Desktop first as it is dead simple and I would be surprised if it does not work first time.

For the Server do it slowly, noting down any issues & if you get any post as much details of the issue as you can.

Hi,

You should absolute start from beginning here, firts read Qlikview Server Reference manual. Thera are a some config before everyting works. The order of  installation of server/desktop doesn't matter.

Have u made all config in QMC (Qlikview Management Console)?

Hi,

It does not matter which application you installed first but normally Qlik Desktop installation will install first. Also read the attached document if you do Server migrations.

Migrating Qlikview Server from Old Machine to New Machine with same assigned doc cals and named cals...

Anand, your document is inaccessible to me (and most community users). Which group should be become member of in order to be able to read your document?

Hi,

Its a Qlikview Document created by user for the Qlik community i believe you already login then suppose to be visible to you also. For you i copy paste the document here.

For migrating Qlikview Server and managing cals following are steps:

Step 1- Copy All qvw files of respective folder from Old Server to New Server which need to show on access point.

e.g. copy Old Server D:/QlikDoc folder to New Server  D:/QlikDoc

Step 2- Copy following files of specified folder from Old Machine in any  temporary location

i.C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\Documents:

a.BorrowedCalData.pgo

b.CalData.pgo

c.IniData.pgo

d.ServerCounters.pgo

e.TicketData.pgo

ii.C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\QlikViewServer:

a.BorrowedCalData.pgo

b.CalData.pgo

c.IniData.pgo

d.ServerCounters.pgo

e.TicketData.pgo

f.FUL.dat

Step 3- Stop following Services of Qlikview Server of Old Server

a.QlikviewDirectoryServiceConnector

b.QlikViewDistributionService

c.QlikviewManagementService

d.QlikviewServer

e.QlikviewWebserver

Note: From now onward forget Old Server and we will work on New Machine's Qlikview Server only.

Step 4- Install Qlikview Server on New Machine and assign license.

Step 5- Stop service of Qlikview Server of New Machine and now replace the respective .pgo and .dat files of Old Server which we have copied in Step No:2  in New Server's respective folder locations as mentioned:

i.C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\Documents:

a.BorrowedCalData.pgo

b.CalData.pgo

c.IniData.pgo

d.ServerCounters.pgo

e.TicketData.pgo

ii.C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\QlikViewServer:

a.BorrowedCalData.pgo

b.CalData.pgo

c.IniData.pgo

d.ServerCounters.pgo

e.TicketData.pgo

f.FUL.dat

Step 6-  Start Service of Qlikview Server of New Machine and mount your folder :

Go to  Qlikview Server :

System->Setup->Qlikview Servers->Folders

.   Mount folder which has all .qvw files for access point

and apply settings by clicking apply.

Note: Folder Name under Mounted Folder should be exactly same as that of Old Server

Now refresh and see that all .qvw has same doc cals and named cals  assigned automatically as in Old Server.

Regards

Anand
