Qlikview personal plus edition?

Hello,

I'm having a hard time finding out what versions of qlikview exactly offer what kind of features.

Basicly what I want is the (free) personal edition, with the possibility to open other people's documents.

What qlikview edition would I need and what would that cost me? Secondly, where can I get it?

Regards,

Sijmen

If you only want a QlkikView Desktop that opens every document available, buy a QlikView Local License. Same price as a Named CAL.

Named and Document CALs are tied to QlikView Server, which - together with the minimum set of CALs - costs a bit more that a single license.

Hi Sijmen,

I don't know of any version that would combine these. I know only two:

- Personal_Edition (for free, no license, enables you to open your own documents, not anyone else's)

- "Full_version" (not free, license system, enables you to open all documents depending on your licence)

Just contact your local distributor and ask them.

You will need to purchase a name user licence for each user to allow sharing of documents between users with QlikView Desktop.

I just called but they had noone available for a week to answer this question since they were away for a training. If what I'm describing does not exist, could you give me an estimate of what the most minimalistic version of the "full_version" would cost?

Hi,

I'm sure there is an up-to-date price list available online.

Last time I looked, it was like

- € 1.010,- for one Named_user_license (ONE user, ALL documents)

- € 265,- for one Document_license (ONE user, ONE document)

Hi, thanks for your answer.

I already figured out that I need to buy a license, I am now trying to discover which license would best suit my needs.

Would you happen to know that? If so, what would that cost me? (an estimation is ok)

Hi,

well, without knowing what scenario you want to build, it's a bit hard to tell what you will need ...

I'd guess that Doc_CALs and Named_user_CALs are usually the cheapest though there are other types.

- You'll need a Named_user_CAL for every developer (they also offer full RW access to the documents which the
   Document_CAL doesn't)

- You'll need a Document_CAL for every user and every document they're supposed to view (with that type of licence, they can still click and make selections, but not edit, save etc.)

=> When one user is supposed to be able to view >5 or so documents, it's obviously cheaper to give him a Named_user_CAL - you can still restrict his/her access using QlikView_functionality.

Your distributor is going to tell you that in many more words, so talk to them when you have time 😉
