Passing selection of field to alternate state

I have a straight table in the default state that uses "Client" as one dimension

I have another table in an alternate state that also uses "Client" as one dimension.

I want these two tables to communicate w/ each other so that selecting Client in the first table will also affect client in the second table  (For context, there are several other fields whose selection influences one table, but not the other...hence the alternate states).

How do I do this?  I found the threads below, which I thought should take care of this, but I can't figure it out.  Thank you!

Try if this configuration can be ok for you.

There are two triggers on field selection (document properties>trigger).

It's a general scenario: users can select from both tables... If they can select just from the first one you can simplify triggers.

Best regards,

Elena
