Server RAM Utilization not increasing

Hello All,

From past one week we are facing an issue.

Initially the server RAM utilization used to reach 85-90% utilization, but from last one week the utilization reached 45-45% max (with same no. of concurrent users).

Because RAM is not used properly, users are facing dead slow response from the application or it just keeps showing LOADING.

PS: we haven't made any changes to any settings on the server, not even on the applications.

Eagerly waiting for your help/ suggestions.

Thanks,

Alkesh

Maybe something changed with the data?

A new year/month had started. If your models include a period of current year/month - it may indicate that the volume of data in the models has decreased, which may explain the drop in memory consumption.

Hello Yavin,

The organization follows April to March Financial Year not Jan-Dec calender year.

There is no drop in data.

I wouldn't have card about the percentage drop in utilization if the performance wouldn't have dropped. But it seems like I only have half of the the total RAM as only 40-45% is used and rest always remains free.

More and more users gets online but the utilization never increases, the application keeps on LOADING... forever for the user.

Please give us some more insights

  • Check your QV server settings, what are the Working Set % Low and High
  • What is the operating system Server 2008 (R2) Standard / Enterprise / 2012 (R2)
  • What is the total installed memory (RAM)
  • Is it a virtual server of physical

  • What is the total installed memory (RAM): 1TB
  • Is it a virtual server of physical: Physical.

The only thing that stands out is the Low and High working sets.

Defaults are 70% and 90%, which corresponds more with the earlier utilization

Hi Alkesh, sorry but I never faced something like this, for the dates you say, as Yaniv says, it points to something to do with year change, maybe something of the server or documents have something with natural year instead of fiscal year. Anyway I don't see why this will cause the issue you comment.

You tried to restart qv services or the server? I attach a pdf about memory limits in case it helps you.

Hi Alkesh

Did you find a solution to this issue

I find myself in the same situation after an upgrade from Windows Server 2008 to 2012

and QV SR4 to QV SR9

No, I have finally rolled back to the original version.

I guess there are issues with SR8 ONWARDS

Thanks,

Alkesh Sharma
