How to aggregate location points into polygons in Qlik Sense

Hello experts.

I have a case in QlikSense in which I would like to “aggregate” some geolocation data.

I have a data set like the attached xls file where I am given a Zone with many Sites. Each Site has its own lat and long. What I would like to achieve (if possible) is to “aggregate” the sites of each zone and create a polygon for each zone. Then I will link this to measures and visualize it in a QlikSense map.

I tried using the GeoAggrGeometry() function but I couldn’t get it to work.

Has anyone been faced with a similar situation before and can shed some light?

Thanks in advance.

Makis.

Hi, if I'm not wrong, you can't use the GeoAggrGeometry function with points, it only works with areas. Take a look at this blog post for more info about geospatial functions.

Maybe you should try using a kml file of Qatar in combination with the data points.

I attach a KML I found of Qatar at gadm.org and a Qlik Sense example app. The last thing you need to do is to link the points and areas with a table containing the associations.

Hope it helps. !
