Does anyone have any suggestions or extensions they can share?

Hi,

I have been asked for a new visualisation to compare three key indicators for two companies.  Having gone through a couple of different options, the end user has come up with an idea that I can't figure out how to generate.  I've looked at gauges and pie charts, but nothing I can think of works ... so I've come here to see if anyone can help!

I've attached a very basic visual in paint to try and give an idea of what has been asked for.

Does anyone have any ideas that may help?

Many thanks in advance.

Cheers,

Emma

Hi Emma,

Even I am looking for some thing similar...

In my case.. I need to compare different Milestones with plan count vs Actual count (plan being high score in gauge and Actual being pointer in Gauge) or some thing similar.

I appreciate your way of preparing rough chart on Paint.

Hi Jonathan,

I've used flat gauges for osme other visualisations which are fine - but what we're trying to do here is have each sections have a static arc but fill as the score increases.  I haven't been able to do that with a gauge - if you have please can you add some details?

Many thanks,

Emma

Hi Hanuman,

I think for yours you could do well to have a look at flat guages if you're happy to look at arcs.  Attached is the test file I've been playing with to look at different options.  Hopefully some of these might help?

Cheers,

Emma

Try to convince the end user that this information can be clearly presented using a bar chart.  Dimensions - Company and Test, expression - score.

Hi Michael,

I would love to and I have tried, however they would really like something with a bit more wow factor than another bar chart.  I have warned them that this may take time (and other resources) but I thought I would pose the question on here just in case someone had already had this problem, or something similar that I could build on.

You could make 3 segmented arc x 3(small, medium, large).

You can change color of segments based on Test Scores.

Hi - that's an interesting idea ... bit nervous about how it would render in Ajax as I notice Qlik still haven't managed to fix the way things change size in webview but I'll have a play with that idea.

Thanks,

Emma

The "wow factor" is good for sales.  For the actual users, clarity and ease of use are more important.  It is in fact also a "wow factor", but not related to visualization.  They'll be happy with just another bar chart.

Forgot to mention, although it should be obvious, that adding calculated bar colors will bring it closer to your requirements.
