Are Stories dynamic or static? (Do they update with new data?)

Can someone please tell me if Stories in Qlik Sense are static or dynamic?

E.g. If I have new data reloaded, does the story snapshots update?

Hey,

No currently stories does not update when the app is reloaded with new data.
We call it a snapshot as it represented how the data looked at the time, for example if you build a story and then the data changes we can't change the snapshots as that would invalidate the story that you had at the time.

With that said we do however have plans at some point to allow the creator of a story to go back and re-fresh snapshots with new data.

Usually the requirement for auto updating stories is to replace the weekly/monthly powerpoint or excel reports that are sent around the company. This is not something we intended Stories to solve but instead we address that requirment through the acquisition of nPrinting which will bring it's capabilities to the Sense platform at a later date.

one year later, what is the status about the update of the Stories ?

I have just made a demo to one customer and it feels completely useless to define nice stories they will never be able to update, even with removing and re-adding Sheets ..

It seems when you create a Story, you also copy the data and filters and will never be able to change them ?
