Hiding field values in current selection box

Hello all,

My qlikview applicaiton has 10 tabs.

I have given "Always one value selected for a field".

Out of the 10 tabs, 5 tabs should not show this selection in the current selection box, rest 5 can show this in the current selection box.

How to achieve this?

Thanks for your help,

Vidhya

create  a copy of the field, use hide prefix to hide it, and use the hidden one in the 5 tabs

hi,

Though I use, hide prefix, rest of the 5 tabs will always have one value selected.

so, it is getting reflected in rest of the tabs also.

Thanks,

Vidhya

Hello Andrew,

I have attached the sample application.

I have Sheet1, Sheet2, Sheet3, Sheet4.

Sheet1 and Sheet2 should have always one value selected for YEAR field, whereas Sheet 3 & Sheet 4 it should not be the case.

Thanks,

Vidhay

They are effectively duplicated object so selection on one sheet will affect all other sheets, you need to use alternate states to break the link between them, see the link above for usage examples..

Example attached.

I've Created alternate state 'state1' and associated the list boxes on sheets 3 & 4 with this.

Thanks a lot Andrew!

But i would like to reflect this in Current Selections box.

Year selection in 3 & 4 should not be seen in Curr Selection box.

Is there any way to hide it ?

See the attachment for more details

Thanks,

Hi there,

you couldn't do it with the standard current selection object, but you can create your own.
