QLikview & NPrinting

Hi Everyone,

I am trying to get Qlikview documents residing in Qlikview server to NPrinting Designer/Client. But i am not able to make connection nor open the documents.

What could be the reason or do we need to make any special configurations ?

Hi Manoj,

Make sure that you have a fully licensed QlikView Desktop available in the computer where NPrinting services are running, and that the account running those services is member of the local Administrators group.

I have QV Desktop with leased license from server. I didn't understood about NPrinting Services.

Do we need to install NPrinting Server as well where client is installed ?

Manoj,

You can have Designer and Server for NPrinting in different computers, but then both must have a licensed copy of QlikView Desktop.

While the lease should work, make sure in the QMC that the assignment for the NPrinting user account has the license manually assigned, and not dynamically. You can manually add a user in the QMC > Licenses > QlikView Server.

Apart from that, do you see any error in the Windows logs?

What is Nprinting User account ?

Miguel_Angel_Baeyens

The account in Windows used to run NPrinting services, the same way you will have a user account to run QlikView Server services.

NPrinting Service will come for Servers. How come it should be problem with NPrinting Client ?

I have problem with NPrinting Client, in getting QLikview Documents List from Qlikview Server.

you need to specify a document as a source and then use it in reports :

You can open a server document from the access point or directly from the folder. In any case your QlikView desktop should be licensed, either directly or via a leased from server lecense

Manually assigned lease, not a dynamically assigned lease.
