QV SBE DMS/Custom Directory Support

Hi All,

I am facing problem of custom directory service at client.

I have SBE license and there is no Active Directory present.

I have created 10 custom users and authorization of document is not able to do, due to DMS authorization is disabled. in LEF information it is showing DISABLE_DMS;YES;; .

If DMS is not allowed with SBE (or limitation of SBE license) then what is alternative solution to authorize document for custom users.

Please Please help.

- Lalit

The only option for SBE is AD.

Active Directory should be available with and without a Publisher. The QVS edition doesn't matter.

DMS is QlikView Server Enterprise Edition-only.

Did you create these custom users in AD or in the local machine domain of the server?

Hi,

With SBE the only option you have is Active Directory.

DMS will not work with SBE.

hi,

in place creating custom directory , you can create users .

go to groups and users ->create 10 users and give access to them.

Without DMS, document authorizations are managed through NTFS rights and ACLs. If you have a Publisher, management of these rights can be automated. If you don't, then it will be a manual job (Windows Explorer->rightclick file->Properties->Security)

Customer dont have publisher and also they dont maintaining Active Directory, so custom users created for 10 users.

I have created 10 custom users in custom directory on server. They even can log in to access point but no application is visible to both name and doc cal custom users.

Is there any other way for custom users authorization?

HI,

This is because Custom users or DMS is not supported with SBE.

What all I can suggest you is.

Create local users in you server machine and move forward.

Configure the same in Qlikview Directory service, Local directory

I think Peter is right here,u can provide access from security tab u can allows the user's to see the qv doc from access point.
