Enable sorting on the expression_fields of a straight table?

Hi,

i have a straight table with a lot of detail data. But as there is one unique key, I have just one dimension_field. I think that is good practice rgd. the memory_profile, no? (Using the minimum possible number of dimensions, I mean)

<=> The checkboxes in the dialog to activate the sorting_indicators are valid only for the dimensions.

=> Is there any way (apart from the possibility to have another sheet with all the individual fields as listboxes) to enable sorting on any of
the fields which are in that table as expressions?

Thanks a lot!

Best regards,

DataNibbler

Hi DataNibbler, Interactive sorting wouldn't help you? In a straight table-->Sort tab, the checkbox on the bottom 'Allow interactive sort' (free translation from spanish, maybe it's called different)

This way the user can double-click the header to sort the expression.

Hi Ruben,

that does help me a lot. In fact it solves my problem.

It is called just that in English and it was active all the time, I just didn't know what it meant. I just tried it now and it works.

I will just have to insert a comment somewhere as I do not expect the users of this app to know that there is a function when nothing is visible about it ...

That seems to work even when the table itself is set to "read_only" - I did that so the user cannot click on any cell, expecting any selection on that field to happen and instead selecting that one value in the dimension_field.

Thanks a lot!

Hi,

Go to Chart Property->Sort and select the expression in which the sort order should be and promote it to the top ..

Else you can just double clik on the header of the expression in which the table has to be sorted ..

hope this will help ,
