Running QDS on separate server

Is it possible to run the QDS service on a separate server with just the Enterprise license?

Yes, you can run that service in a different server with just the enterprise license

you only need the clustering license, when you are adding another QVS server into the mix

In QMC do you just add another server, but make sure it does not have the server service running?

Well, almost. On each platform, you install just the services you need (QDS+DSC, QVS+QVWS+DSC+QMS). Then you add/modify the services in each category of the QMC to point to the correct platform.

There is some folder sharing to do as well.

do you already have one QDS ?

QMC > setup > distribution services

click on the + on the top right hand and you can add it

IIRC that option in QMC is not available without a publisher license. Have I got that wrong?

Sorry, I wasted your time. The split is not QVS-version dependent, but it requires Publisher to be installed. A SBE with Publisher can have split installs too.
