how to create a button that opens other QlikView documents

HI

I have created a button, and the reason i have done this is because i want to be able to press on it and it open another QlikView application.

I have right clicked gone to button properties - then actions - Add - external and chosen open Qlik document - ok. This is where i get stuck as i am unclear what i need to write in the box called document. I have tried writing the name of the document, the link to where it is saved and neither seem to work. Can anyone help?

THanks

Hi,

You just type in the complete Path. i.e.

C:\QLIKVIEW\DOCS\DOC1.QVW

Thanks

Hi,

I have an other way

You can use a button object and click add an action

Then go to extern and select open a qlikview document

and you can display this button on your rainure

Thanks for this, i can get it to open a QlikView document that is saved on my C:\Drive. However, i really want it to open a document that is held on a server so it doesn't have a drive as such. Is there anyway to get round this as it doesn't like the path i am inputting.

Can you use the IP address of your server?

e.g.

\\12.2.1.151\Qlikview\Doc1.QVW

Make sure that the user opening the document in the server has access to the document and the folder where it is saved.
