I already read the thread regarding excel macros. For clarification, no extraction of qlikview charts and table into excel. I mean is, just to download and open a file(example excel file).

I'm sorry I will rephrase the question maybe my question is misleading.

QUESTION: Any method, even not using macro, using BUTTON CLICK that will download and open a file(example excel document report) in specified directory or server.

Then I think what Sunil suggested is exactly that u need. Just create a button with Action ->External->Launch ur respective file, excel etc
