Personal Edition to Server

I have a couple of questions I was hoping someone could help me with.

First, I've been using the personal edition for about a year and we just recently purchased the small business server edition. Our IT department has installed the server software, but we are having problems in figuring out how to move my personal edition to the server version. Is it as simple as entering the license number under Help, License Updates?

Second, Does it matter where the applications are saved so other users can access the applications I have created. Can we just save them on any shared drive or do they need to be in a Qlikview folder with the server?

Thanks for your help!

When you're open your QV local client (qv.exe), you have several tabs (getting started, recently opened documents, favorites, open in server, resources)

I see that now, but it says under help of Open in Server

"When opening documents as a client to QlikView Server you will be restricted in what you can do with the document compared to when you open local documents. As a client you may not add or delete sheets and sheet objects. Furthermore you cannot access properties dialogs, change macros, access the script, reload data or save the document."

I want other users to be able to use the application I have started to develop and make changes to it.

You don't actually need to open a document, you just need to put in the server address and click open.

Then it will initiate a connection to the server to lease the licence. After that you can open document ususing filemenu>open in the normal fashion.

In the QEMC i find that i need to enter my OS username in angle brackets (e.g. <mycompanydomain\mywindowslogin>) in the named users list for it to function correctly.
