Searching for users in QMC

Hello community,

I just upgraded to server version S11R11. On the user management page I noticed that I have to type in the exact windows logon name in order to get a result. I used to be able to type in '*PartOfLastName*' and got a list of results. The same goes for assigning CALs to users.

I have to add that I recently changed the displayName of users in active directory. Now it is [surname, givenname]. It was [surname, givenname (company)]

Could this have anything to do with it?

Which AD fields are used in the search?

Another question:

Is there a way to store a list of "VIP-Users" that I assigned with named CALs? So that I can quickly reassign CALs to users after a server restart/crash without having to add them manually.

Thank you,

Thorsten

Searching like - '*PartOfLastName*' should work fine unless the AD ID (note, id and display names are different) has changed. To answer your second quuestion, try to create a Group in AD for your VIP-Users.

I upgraded to QV11.20 SR11 and now the search of users doesn't work anymore in CALs to users and user management page

Hi Bill,

I've encountered this bug also with my V11.2 SR11 build 12852.

Contacted Qlik support and they've told me there is no patch they can give me today, but this will be fixed in the next SR12 released 'soon'.

So for now we're using a work around with the Windows file properties>security, and searching for user names with that.

Once we know the full user name it can be pasted into the QMC and CAL assigned etc.

Peter should have the patch by now. There was a mixed up in support.
