OK. I have been trying for 2 weeks to come up with a solution for this scenario. I have bruised my head enough an am now ready for some help. If you have any to offer, I will gladly accept it. I have attached a QVW of my basic pivot table and a XLS file with the way I would like it to look. Please note that there are 4 dimensions with the last one being horizontal. Where I want the running subtotal is on the 3rd dimension. I have come close by using RangeSum with Before and After an Above and Below. But I can not get what I need. I can not figure out how to get a running subtotal that resets after a particular dimension.
I have a feeling this is probably going to turn out to be much easier than I think, but I can't see it.
Thanks for any help.

Clever. Thank you very much. I had looked at something similar to this, but now I understand how it works. Wayne
I´ve added a dummy dimension to create that line 'Running' and then you check with dimentionality() if you are in that line
