How to set-up QlikView Document Administration

Hello,

I need to give user access to the QEMC (QMC). I found and followed this procedure How to set-up QlikView Document Administration, but was unsuccesful.

Here is a screen shot of my user access without doing anything:

Here are a screen shots of my user access after having followed the procedure How to set-up QlikView Document Administration:

What seems really odd to me is that I even don't see the green gear with QDS@hostname like when I am connected with my admin access (see below screenshot). I only see "No tasks to display".

Has anyone an idea of what I missed ?

Thanks in advance

Have a nice day

Hello Arthur,

Yes the user have logged off twice (QlikView and Windows)

For my tests, I use a browser configured to clean all history and cache when it is closed and when I manage Windows ACLs I always log off the user from Windows session.

So you get in as a Document Administrator (only two tabs in QMC which is correct) but you cannot access any documents to administrate? Did you define Source folders (QMC->System->Setup->Distribution Service->Select yours->General->Source Folders) and assign specific document administrators like yourself to these folders? Are there any documents in these newly created source folders?

Hello Peter,

Sorry to answer so lately.....

Yes, I have defined a Source Folder in (QMC->System->Setup->Distribution Service->Select yours->General->Source Folders) and I have given access to the local group "QlikView Document Administrators".

Yes, there are documents in this specific folder.

I also do the same in:

- QMC->System->Setup->QlikView Servers->Select yours->Folders  (creation of a folder)

- QMC->System->Setup->QlikView Servers->Select yours->Folder Access (assign the local group "QlikView Document Administrators")

I still can't see any documents.

Thanks for helping

Hello Gabriel,

I restarted all services of the QlikView server in this order.

Stop order: QlikView WebServer, QlikView Distribution Service, QlikView Management Service, QlikView Server and QlikView Directory Service Connector

Start order: QlikView Directory Service Connector, QlikView Distribution Service, QlikView Management Service, QlikView Server and QlikView WebServer

I also use these orders when doing my everyday backup.

No changes for my user access to the QEMC.

Thanks for helping.

Hi,

Just checking I know you would have thought about this.

Assuming the user is part of the admin group?

Hello Gabriel,

The user is a member of the "QlikView Documents Administrators" group I created.

Hi,

one more option is to remove the user from the group and add user back. It's not clear what's happening there.
