Data Connections

In QlikSense how to maintain the data connections.

If the data source is from more than 100 API then do i need to create 100 data connections

or

To have one text file with all the api defined and create 1 data connection. Is it possible to go with the second option?

Hi Logesh,

I assume you are referring to the WEB FILE / http call when you say API? Or is another type of data connection?

Ok good - in short - yes (by default) you need to configure each connection for a separate Web file, BUT you could use a legacy connection CONNECT STATEMENT for each connection, store them in a file and then include / or call that file using our scripting language. However, I would need to understand the use case more, in order for us to properly guide you.

In general:

You would need to disable standard mode and then learn how to use the CONNECT syntax:

DISABLE STANDARD MODE

http://help.qlik.com/sense/2.0/en-US/online/#../Subsystems/Hub/Content/LoadData/disable-standard-mod...

When you disable STANDARD MODE - YOU WILL NO LONGER USE the LIB syntax.

CONNECT

http://help.qlik.com/sense/2.0/en-US/online/#../Subsystems/Hub/Content/Scripting/ScriptRegularStatem...

INCLUDE

http://help.qlik.com/sense/2.0/en-US/online/#../Subsystems/Hub/Content/Scripting/SystemVariables/Inc...

Thanks Mike,

There are 3 possible options to create the connection to the data source.Based on the above link we need to change the ini settings in desktop or in QMC for server.

Can we have the hybrid option?

Having the LIB option for the oledb/odbc connections. And having include/must include option to have all the api defined.
