i have created a qvw file where i have created an ODBC connection and calling some stored procedure
in my set up , i have QMC installed in one server A and only publisher installed in another server B
I have SQL Server connectivity available only in Publisher Server and am able to reload my qvw manually successfully and get data.
Now i am trying to Reload this qvw using task in QMC in Server A. but the task is failing as it is not able to connect to ODBC Data source.
Note : QMC SERVER A does not have connectivity to SQL Server database.
Could you please let me know what i am missing here
Hi Binod,
Have you created the odbc connection on the server too?
Andy
the reload is done by the server the publisher is on.
So that server needs to have teh ODBC connection
Is it one server or a cluster?
Hi,
You have to create the ODBC connection string from QMC server A.
No we don't have connectivity to SQL SERVER through ODBC on QV SERVER
The publisher reloads the data; you only need (to reload) connectivity to sql server from the publisher.
When you say manually, do you mean manually from the publisher server?
Enable the log in your QlikView document (Menù --> settings --> document properties --> general --> generate logfile) save the doc on your server (source folder), reload from qmc and post the log you find in the same folder as the .qvw doc (same name, end .log suffix)
Or try yourself to see in the log, the error is at the end.
yes manually from publisher the qvw file is in publisher
Can you post a screenshot of the Interface you use to "manually reload the qvw from publisher"? Running a manual reload in QV Desktop doesn't count.
