"no documents" available

Hello,

sometimes after the login on the access point the user gets the message "no documents" available or the number of available documents are lesser then they should be. After a logout and a waiting-time from about 15 minutes and a re-login everything is ok. again.

What could be the reasons? Which solutions are possible (unless waiting or restart the services)?

Hi Marcus,

What does your environment setup look like?

Hi Joe,

we use the DMS-Mode with custom users, all with NamedCAL's in a single-server environment (all services on one machine). Webserver is the qlikview webserver and the version is with 10.00.8715.5 quite old.

We are within the last stage before the migration on QV 11 SR12 to the end from these month and need to know if others have had similar experience with occasional not available documents possibly on newer QV versions as ours.

Hi Marcus,

I've not seen this with any later version in a single server setup like that, I do recall seeing something like this back in v9 (a number of years back). I think we traced it to a network issue, as documents were stored on a shared folder in the single server environment, so were intermittently unavailable.

Hi Joe,

I would rather not think on a network issue to access the documents then if I switch between different user-logins which have the same permissions in a short time (less then a minute) user-X had no documents, user-Y had all documents then again the switch to user-X who had no documents.

I assume the reason more by a security issue maybe with the meta-or pgo-files or something with the server session control - which recovered after about 15 minutes.

sorry, from you description I didn't think this was user specific in that way, hence the thought of network.

So two different users at the same time, one can have qvw available and the other 'no documents', interesting.

Is there any commonality in which user it happens to? Or just random?

Have you updated your QV license recently?

The occurance is just randomly and happens without any changes on licences, user/usergroups, server settings, section access or anything else.
